Daily Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrival in Xi’an · Free Time

Meals: on your own

Morning / Afternoon
Arrive in Xi’an and settle into your hotel.

Evening
Choose your own first taste of the city: enjoy local opera, Shaanxi crosstalk, or stand-up at Qingqu Club (Baishulin) or Yisu Society (Anban Street). Or meet friends at Defu Alley “Tea Street”—a mix of tranquil teahouses and lively cafés—perfect for easing into Xi’an’s night rhythm.

Meals: on your own
Morning

  • Xiaonanmen Morning Market: a lively street market along the city wall where old-town life wakes up with steam and spice. Try classics such as spicy beef ball soup, steamed jujube rice cake (Zenggao), and cured beef in crispy flatbread.
  • Xi’an City Wall: walk or cycle the best-preserved ancient ramparts in China and take in views where imperial bricks meet the modern skyline.

Afternoon

  • Paomo at a time-honored shop: crumble the flatbread to “sesame-seed” pieces and let it soak in rich beef or mutton broth—Xi’an’s soul in a bowl.
  • Great Mosque & Muslim Quarter: explore faith and trade along historic lanes (Beiyuanmen, Sajinqiao, Xiyangshi, Dapiyuan). Snack your way through halal favorites: yangrou paomo, red-willow skewers, Jiasan soup dumplings, Zenggao, honey cold rice cakes, spicy beef ball soup, mutton in broth.
  • Gao Family Courtyard: a 400-year-old mansion where you’ll watch an artisanal shadow-puppet show—the “earliest animation” brought to life with singing and live accompaniment.

Evening

  • Bell & Drum Towers Square: Xi’an’s geographic and cultural heartbeat since Ming times; climb for a sweeping night view and listen to the city’s story ring out over the crossroads.

Meals: lunch included; others on your own
Morning

  • Transfer to Lintong for the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses—part of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s mausoleum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Pits 1–3 to meet the silent legion that changed archaeology.

Afternoon

  • Lishan Garden (Mausoleum Site Park): the core burial area with tomb mounds, excavated ruins, companion pits, and the Bronze Chariots gallery.
  • Cultural Relics Restoration Center: learn how warriors, weapons, bronzes, and pottery were made—then try a hands-on restoration activity.
  • Conclude with “Resurrection of the Legion”, an immersive show using holography, robotic staging, a 360° revolving set, and cinematic sound to re-create Qin battlefield might.

Meals: on your own
Morning

  • Bailuyuan Film Base (Bailuyuan Film City): a cultural theme park based on the award-winning novel Bailuyuan, merging film sets + live performance + tech experiences + folk customs.
  • Immersive Guanzhong Scenes: walk the Bailu Village lanes and Zishui County streets (yamen, city god temple, old inns).
  • Signature Live Shows (choose 1):
  • The Legend of Heiwa: suit up in Republic-era costume and step into a participatory drama.
  • Two Tigers Guarding Chang’an: large-scale action with practical effects, cavalry, and pyrotechnics.

Afternoon

  • Shuilu’an Temple (at the foot of Wangshun Mountain, Lantian): a serene “living museum” of polychrome clay sculpture and relief.
  • “China’s No.1 Continuous Polychrome Reliefs”: over 3,700 clay figures forming a three-dimensional narrative of the Buddha’s life; famed as a “second Dunhuang” for its craftsmanship.
  • Tang origins & Ming restoration, with Confucian-Buddhist-Taoist motifs side by side.
  • The long-mysterious master Qiao Zhongjie finally identified by an incised inscription beneath a lotus base.
  • A striking real-world location echoed in contemporary game aesthetics—now a cult favorite for art pilgrims.
